Sorry to those of you who wait for the news-sheet but Euge has been very busy so necessary to incorporate both months!!
So lets start with Gwyn Pollard who after a 12 month break from coaching with Euge decided he needed help driving his Crossley 9F sports car. With the competition hotting up Gwyn (an ex jockey) had an intensive 3 track days. These helped him gallop his way right back into contention for race wins and podiums. Gwyn then decided to purchase the magnificent Formula Atlantic Chevron (see picture) which was arguably (in the 70s) the most successful racing car manufacturer outside of F1. The highlight of these cars was when Peter Gethin won the Brands Hatch Race of Champions in his 1973 Chevron F5000. Great for Peter sadly shattering a whole host of star drivers in their F1 cars, including James Hunt, Niki Lauda and Emerson Fittipaldi. Good luck Gwyn !!
A new driver who came to Euge is John Davison. Racing for 2 years decided to accelerate his learning curve by having Euge coach him. John has an array of historic cars, including a TVR Griffith, Lotus Cortina and two Lotus Elan (see picture of one below). With an upcoming race at Croft Circuit John had just one day to prepare. Watch this space because John is so focused and committed to developing his driving skills it will only be a short time before he gets a race win. Good luck to John too!!
Eugene’s Fun Cup drivers in car 104 – Simon and Robert are now just two points off the championship lead. Marcus, Will and Andrew in car 21 scored their first ever top ten finish with a superb 9th place at Brands Hatch. What an achievement despite their engine power being down by 128BHP. Just think what they can do with full power!! Mark Burton and Graham Pattle in car 207 came back to Euge for some coaching so expect to see an upturn in results for them after a very disappointing start to the season.
Mike Whitaker had another great weekend , this time at the prestigious Silverstone Classic. Racing his 450BHP TVR Griffith against some stiff competition from Cobras and E-Types, Mike came away with four magnificent Trophies and a new lap record. See picture!!
Not only did he have an amazing race weekend but also put in a winning bid at the Silverstone Auction for the most successful Ford Capri in racing history (see picture). Mike’s plan is to test the car with Euge over the winter in preparation for an event at Goodwood in early 2016.
And even more news about the Dual Steering car Euge has. After extensive testing at both Silverstone and Brands Hatch the car can now be hired for coaching. As Eugene said a pilot would not consider flying without dual controls so why not a dual controlled car. It can make an incredible difference to drivers.
If you want to hire Euge and the Dual Steering car drop him an email to arrange or have a look on the website!
