It was decided to combine the two months as generally nothing happens in the racing world throughout the winter period.
With this in mind Eugene decided to give Unit 35 a whole new look. Vitally important for any potential clients visiting the unit.
Gone are the grim surroundings and in are the newly painted walls, floor and toilet (including this jazzy little number) !!
March was getting busy for Euge coaching several of the Fun Cup drivers preparing them for their 2015 season. Good to see Euge back doing what he does best – coaching!!
One of Euge’s old clients Richard Usher called on him for help around Blyton Park Circuit (Eugene had an input into the original design) as he is hoping to compete in single-seater sprint events in a Formula Renault. Usually young teenagers go into these straight from International Karting. They made excellent progress with Richard only 3.5 seconds off the pace. Good luck Richard!!
March also saw Euge reunited with his long time friend/client Mike Whitaker. Mike has raced successfully in Historics for some time now but this year has asked Euge to do a number of 2-driver races with him in Mike’s mighty Mustang and beautiful Chevron 6. Very exciting times so watch this space for updates.
The now famous flying vet – Darren Partridge – bought an MX5 Race car and together with his Formula 750 Wardon decided to store them in the newly refurbished Unit 35. Darren and Euge have a Thruxton Circuit day booked for April. Fast and furious!
And finally Chris Searle (ex-vicar extraordinaire) joined Euge for the BRDC track day and had a wonderful time around Silverstone GP Circuit. Chris was as enthusiastic as ever.
In the April newsletter there will be news of Eugene’s new project that will hit the track. Really exciting venture so please keep a close eye on Euge’s website.
